Sometimes certain items are stocked seasonally. If the people in charge of
stocking certain lines are situated further north, they may think it is
winter  ;)  and certain summer time items need not be carried yet.

Alf's suggestion, of course, might be true too, given CA's predilection for
prohibiting the keeping of native fishes.
