Can we kill off this population spelling before it gets established.
Mark. I'm sure you were given the name as you portray it but it should be
Ekondo Titi.
Spelling on location names is very very important & should be accurate.
Some villages in West Africa carry the same name. Often they change names to
confuse things further.
Name corruptions are controllable if we police it correctly.
The West African site is hopefully working on the original collectors to
provide a reliable database on correct naming & spelling. This, as you can
imagine is a huge task but data is now available on some codes.
I am concerned that collectors mostly don't report widely enough their
collecting trip & the codes they assign.
Wouldn't it be great for all collections to be relayed to a central point to
distribute data as a base for correcting wrong spellings.
