Re: Conservation breeder's award program

Hey guys, I think what we should ask is if Lee has been thinking about this.
I am sure he has since it is his commitee and that we have been taking stabs
at it lately. I geuss what needs to be done is really, at this point, a
tracking problem. In order to honor someone for their selfless conservation
efforts, that person will probably not know they will be honored until it
happens. Since the other commitee chairs have their list of dependable and
productive hobbyist, they can exibit the synergy to come up with a program
that goes to this next level. If you guys are thinking what I am thinking, a
hobbyist for this kind of recognition will not be able to plan for it or try
for it. Not to take away anything from our current programs is also a goal.
The current chairman of these related commitees are the only people that can
accumulate information about who wins shows, breeds fish, write articles,
etc. Maybe Lee can extend KHY to have additional merit in the conservation
area without taking away from the current award. Don't forget, there are
hobbyist out there who are not into the conservation area as others, but
still produce alot of fish, and contribute to our special hobby. When it is
all said and done, maybe it will be called the BOT award or the Chairmans
Award. That way we can keep what we already have in place. Mark Delraso
