A little trick I have found useful for softening the usually-stiff green
nylon (?) nets -- boil them. A quick dip into a pot of boiling water does
marvels for making them soft, yet does not seem to hurt their longevity.
[Seems to me I read that in an old aquarium book -- Axelrod and Schultz, maybe?]
