Notho eggs (PLEASE note the spelling) are not adhesive. Most Fundulopanchax
eggs are also not adhesive when freshly laid until they have started to
develop, then some of them adhere to peat making them difficult to see and
separate. The same is true of many South American annuals. The only freshly
laid eggs That I have seen that are truly adhesive are unfertilized and
fungused eggs. I have examined over 100 different species under the
microscope to determine size and ciliated character (adhesiveness related).
Those with cilia are going to adhere to small peat particles, but it takes a
while.
