RE: Import-export
I am from Malta in the centre of the Mediterranean sea to get the point and
have received eggs in plain envelope from killietalk colleagues as far from
the states and arrived in good condition. the hatch rate was not good but I
presume it was because of x-rays used in the post in the U.S.A. due to what
happened with the anthrax case .

It's pretty easy to order eggs from overseas, especially annual killies.
They are put into a normal envelope and mailed like any other piece of mail.
Sometimes it gets held up a bit but with annual eggs it generally isn't a
factor.
I've heard of people ordering Saturnidae moth eggs this way and having no
problems at all. Saturnid eggs generally hatch about ten days after laying,
so I hear, which is kind of pushing the envelope.
Even more illegal, and more likely to get busted, I've heard of people
ordering all sorts of large rhinoceros beetles from overseas and having them
delivered to the front door in perfect shape. The packages are just not
labelled as carrying anything alive. Way to risky\illegal for my taste but
it can definitely be done.

I can see where this is headed -
Some time in the near future, I am going to find something I want, being
sold by a person in another country.
My first thought - impossible.
What kind of nightmares are involved with ordering fish, or eggs from
another country? Is it even worth thinking about?
