A. Australe with itch
I just received my first 2 pairs of aphyosemion australe yesterday night. This morning I noticed they had a few white dots on the top, I guess itch from the stress of transfer. They seem quite young as only 3 cm long and the color had not fully developped.
I put quick cure for itch ( Formalin and malachite green) which I used succesfully before on other fish.
My water is lightly salted (special treated aquarium salt),has Ph 7-7.2 and it was at 24C but I decided to raise it to 27C until the itch goes away. Is that good with A. australe?
Does it take long to grow form 3 to 4-5 cm and show full colors?
I also have a pair of A. amieti (also juvenile) and they seem in good shape without itch
Also does anyone knows where I can get other A. australe near Montreal if I get to loose them.
