possible sequestering tip
Not sure if this will help anyone, but hey, I'll share a beneficial tip we
just discovered.
We have a tank with a few good-sized goldfish. One of them started
sprouting the "breeding acne" & started getting rough with one of the
others. Yeah, he wanted to breed, but she didn't want anything to do with
him & he was just pestering the poor thing for half the morning. Finally,
we figured she could use a break, & decided to give Cassanova a time out.
Only what do be put him in--he's big?
Then I spied our plastic bread box container we use to store pasta; it's
roughly 14" long, 5"x5" opening, & the end has holes (I guess for ease of
sliding a wrapped loaf of bread into the box). So, we stuck the box
open-side up against the glass in the aquarium, Cassanova was confined but
still had room to swim, the box is transparent so he could see his
tankmates, and it had openings to allow water to circulate. After about an
hour, we left him out & he's been a good boy ever since.
If anyone thinks this is a good solution & want to find one of these bread
boxes, I believe we got it at Walmart & it is made by Rubbermaid. If anyone
can tell me this was a horrible solution, please, by all means tell me why.
