I think that's a fair statement, but I use them once in a while just for
variety.

I have rarely seen quality frozen brine shrimp.  They are difficult to
keep frozen due to the saline nature of the product and the fact that
they are not given the special handling they require to keep them frozen.
 That being said, they are only a fair food source at best for most
fishes and probably a poor food source for killies because of the high
water content.
