longipinnis vs bokermanni
Hello all
A small matter has cropped up in the on-going South American Annual
census (internal SAA group thing...).
In regard to the Pt. longipinnis 02/1 "Chaco Ine" the alternative
name "bokermanni" has been used. There has been comments that
bokermanni is the correct name due to errors in the discription of
longipinnis.
The question is this: What is the correct taxon, longipinnis or
bokermanni? I'm lead to believe that Costa favours the latter (Ahl
syndrome?) and that Wildekamp is also betting on the latter...
Can the switch be made now or will we have to play the waiting game
for the formal publication?
Your opinions (those of you more in touch with the litrature)
