Re: dying fry...

Thanks Roger....I didn't know that !! The way you described the darting and
trying to commit suicide is how the GW fry are acting.Thank you for the
excellent tip !!I will definetly be aware of this.I did change about a third
of the water.
Maybe my culture of microworms is caring a deadly bacteria ?I've had the the
worms for about 6 months but changed the culture every week.
Thanks again,
Carrie

Two years is a long time for many killies.
Also, have you changed too much water?
If you use fresh water, and little tiny bubbles form on the sides of the
tank,
these can enter the fish and cause many problems for up to three months.
They are smaller, but similar to those forming when you open a bottle of
7-up.
They fish often act as if they have been poisoned, and maybe were.
Of gas bubbles block adequate flow to certain organs than cleanse a fish,
that fish will not be able to function properly, and gets poisoned.
They dart about wildly as if they are trying to kill themselves,
or are completly scarred to death from shock.
Even floating a bag in water containing these bubbles can cause problems.
They enter a fish very fast. I feel it is one of the mahor causes of fish
death.
F and W refers to it as 'nitrogenouses' (sic).
Water going over a spillway may release these and sicken fish downstream.
Water recently released from a faucet normally forms these within an hour.
They can be moved around like small magnets.
They are not at the top of the water, but the sides and love to cover
plastic.
