Yeah, use Linux and a UNIX based mail reader.  Natural virus immunity!

I have seen those messages come in.  The attachments clearly are .bat file set
to exec when the mail message is opened and a small .exe file of some type. 
With the UNIX based mail readers (I use XFMail but there are many others)
EVERYTHING except the ASCII is shown as a separate file.  Even HTML is
separated.  Real easy to determine infected messages.  I have my base sendmail
hacked to send anything with a .bat or .exe attachment to the bit bucket in the
sky.
