  My lights are on 16 hours a day.  My fish still spawn well for me.  I get
more than enough eggs.  In fact, I picked 60 eggs in one day from my
australe orange.  I stopped picking eggs for myself.  I have close to 200
fry of this species at present.  I do not think that lights that are on for
a long period of time has much to do with fish spawning.  I think rather it
is the kind of food that they get and a cleaning of their tanks on a
regular bases that makes the fish spawn a lot.
