I forward part of a note I sent to Kristi, this AM. My purpose is 
primarily to reduce clutter at killietalk, and not to exclude anyone 
interested from joining the BAKA list to eavesdrop on our local activities.

Please sign up, wherever you live, if you want to read our internal notes, 
but recognize that I discourage idle chatter. Many of our Silicon Valley 
members get it at work, and busy hobby lists are a real no-no in any 
responsible company. To keep them on the list, we try to shunt general 
chatter and husbandry discussions to the AKA list so our volume stays 
really low. Mostly the BAKA list will have purely local club items and 
some WCW planning stuff.

Hi Kristi,

Wrong list. You probably should send local-specific things to the BAKA
list and not to the whole killietalk list. If you are not signed up, just
send a message to majordomo at killi_net with subscribe baka in the body. No
subject and nothing else in the body but those 2 works. Send from your
regular e-mail addy, and you should get a confirming note from the dumb
robot that handles the list. LMK if it doesn't work.

[My apologies, but I apparently wiped off the signup info, when I removed
the WCW announcement page from the web site. Unsubscribing is identical,
but you must add "un" in front of that first word. More complicated if you
are not at the e-mail address involved. Contact me.]

The BAKA list has 67 members, while killietalk is somewhere around 800, I
think. Ours are highly concentrated, between NJ and NZ, where killietalk's
are spread around more. ;-)[Actually, we are grateful for the support we
get from such distant BAKA members as Alan Kaufman, Andrew Broome, and
even our near-local Allan Semeit in AZ.]
