Look for this sort of thing in a jeweler's supply outlet.  I got this tip at the
AKA convention.  I looked up "jeweler's supply" in the local dex and the first
one I went to had these flip down magnifiers.  They turned out to be much
cheaper then the welders magnifiers because those have to be much more heavy
duty.  They are also much more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. 
The supply place I want to had a choice of 4 magnifications with a flip down
2.5 X magnification lens.  I use a 3.5 magnifier which is fine for 90 % of the
egg picking I do.  With the 2.5 X mag down this is now 8.75 which is more then
enough for seeing fine detail.
