I sure don't know what it is. I raised mine from pink eggs I got from Joe and
they then laid eggs that were not pink over a period of about a year. Then I
started finding young swimming in the tank and stopped looking for and at
eggs. Maybe it is the water chemistry, but when I started Joe was using the
commercial Rift Lake salts like I have been.
