Scavengers for a killifish tank
I purchased 25 semi-adult cardinals on aquabid and put them in with my
dozen BIT's to get food that falls from the surface. These cardinals are
the result of four generations of aquarium breedings so aren't as likely to
carry the disease that normal pet store cardinals do. Anyway they not only
get the food the bitaeniatums miss, but will even compete with the BIT's at
the surface for the food. They are not at all timid and I hope less likely
to eat eggs than corydoras. The good food agrees with them well; they are
putting on weight and have good color. Maybe I'll try breeding them
sometime if it looks like they are filling up with eggs, but for now they
are just pretty scavengers.
