Flightless fruit flys

Does anyone know a good source of 2 inch or more thick soft foam? Years ago I raised tons of D. melanogaster using small pickle jars and for a top some fairly thick flexible foam cut to fit. It worked really well, must have had the correct humidity levels, and I raised tons of fruitflys. The jars were reused over and over again, just cleaned out with boiling water.

Well now years later I've been raising D. heidii (sp?) and trying D. melanogaster but this time around I've been using old soda bottles and and aquarium filter floss to plug the openings. I know the heidii have a longer life cycle but I don't get as many as I once did and I have trouble keeping the melanogaster going at all. I'm thinking that the current set up doesn't maintain the correct humidity or something like that. I've been looking for flexible foam at Home Depot etc but cann't locate it anywhere. Does anyone know of a good source for this? Or does anyone else have a good set up for flyless fruitflys?

I need large qty's for some poison arrow frogs but the killies love them too. Thanks.
