Re: Die Velvet DIE !!

My experience with velvet. My fish got it because I fed my fish too
much at one time and I did not remove the excess of food fed.
To cure the fish I first removed as much water as I could. Then I used
aquaflavine 1/2 or less the amount that the directions called for. Each
day I changed some more of their water. I didnot add any more aquaflavine.
Usually some of my fish died, I guess the ones that had velvet the most. I
didnot feed the fish for several days while using the drug. When I noticed
that the fish seemed better, I fed a little, and eventually they became
better. I made sure that I changed all the water, and continued to change
it each day a little at a time.
I watch now on the amount of food that I feed the fish at any one time.
I can feed them often, but never too much food at any one time.
Just remember that Aquaflavine looses its potency if there is too much
light shinning on it. I usually put it in the tank before it got dark.
   Good luck,
   Bro. Paul
