Re: Die Velvet DIE !!

Both copper and malachite green are stressful chemicals and your fish are already stressed. I'd add more salt, gradually and continually. I suspect there is food rotting in your peat moss or on the surface. Do a massive water change, increase aeration, add salt, and hope for the best. Velvet is always with us, but it explodes where there is leftover food and there is no salt in the water. Velvet alone won't kill the fish (I've had huge infestations in otherwise healthy fish in green water). What kills them is bacterial infections through the wounds when the velvet is killed. Left alone and untreated, velvet can drain the fish and kill them by overwhelming them, but it's really a combination of the velvet, bacterial invasion through the lesions, and just bad (polluted, unsalted) water that usually does the fish in.
