looking for advice on Fp. batesii

About a month ago I ordered 2 prs of Fp. batesii from "Toyin" in
Louisianna, based on an add on the net.  He sent the fish quickly along
with a couple pair of beutiful infrafasciatus Baroi. I was really pleased.

I have had the batesii for a month now. They are absolutely beautiful.
Probably 4  inches.  I keep a trio in a 10g (the second male was getting
beaten up). They eat black worms like a gorilla east bananas. They have
grown fat and healthy and it's a toss-up whether they or the jorgenscheeli
(purchases at  theAKA convention)  are the best looking fish in the
basement.

So anyone else out there get them and ,if so, are you having any luck? My
male is VERY often interested in spawning (he's always chasing the ladies)
but I am yet to find an egg.. I've heard we should spawn  them over peat,
but I put the mop in there on the bottom....just so I can check it to see
if any eggs at all are lying around. So far no luck.

Advice? experiences?
