Re: Simp magnificus (was Re: Spawning media for peat divers)



Ronnie,
I am using a 5 1/2 gal. tank with a sponge filter and peat container. I have
found with the Simpsonitchthy's, that I am keeping and have raised in
groups, that the males will do show out and scuffle with their rivals, as
soon the peat is introduced. I'm sure it starts the hormones flowing. Mine
are starting to go through the behavioral stages of spawning, but it would
seem that they are still a bit young to produce viable eggs, I will need
someone's opinion on that. (LIST HINT) ;  )  As for size, Males 30-60mm,
Females 25-50mm. This picture,as with most I take, are with flash.
