Gary, if you no longer see the raccoons, check for Chinese snakehead in the
ponds. They've been reported in
Maine, Hawaii, California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island,
Florida, and Crofton Maryland (MSN news item). Very appalling article that
also cited the mute swan, zebra mussel, and other invasive foreign organisms
that our government spends over $100 billion a year--not to eradicate, but
to mitigate.
