Re: linear piston pumps
Allen and James, I like the fact that you've had these for a
year with no problems. I'm familiar with the Rena 50 and
100 models and they are not this bulletproof: 2 of the 50s
broke down on me (they are sealed and irreparable) but
having never tried the 400 I've kept my silence. The Rena's are by far the
quietest vibrator pumps on the market but I think it's time I upgrade to a
Jehmco. If the smallest Jehmco doesn't mind being choked down with the
6 tanks I have now plus the three 33 gallon ones I'm picking up on the way
to Huntsville, then great! Evidently back pressure is not an issue with
these pumps. Thanks to
Gary Meyers' and Dave Wood's info on building tanks I
feel I can move forward and give it a try. In a addition to
the 33-gallon tanks, I want to build several 14x12x11 high
tanks with every 3 being lit by a double 4foot fluorescent.
Have to check on the krib to factor gallonage. Divide internal volume by
255,265, or 285, can't remember.
