Re: Shipping killie eggs

Daniel,

I have received mop spawners in "tobacco" consistency peat moss. At the
appropriate time, you just add water and hatch as if they came right off the
mop.

The trick is cleaning out the peat, but a few water changes should take care
of that. I won't provide any advice on what to do after they hatch. I
would welcome input from you or the other members.

I am sure you will receive other advice that is probably better, but here is
one more option for you to try. The peat keeps the eggs from drying out,
maintains pH, and helps shield them from ambient light.

Best regards,
John

What is the best method for shipping mop spawning killifish eggs across the
country? We just received some in a film canister and only six of the
twenty have a chance. The sender is willing to try again, but using a better
shipping method. Thanks for your insights!
