I have noticed red ramshorn snails are weaker than the regular dark (almost black ) ones. In similar conditions the red ones will die out if you keep selecting for the reddest ones. Keep a few of the blacks in with them. If snails are short of calcium, the lps's bird department is the place to go. Put a cuttlebone in the tank soft side up. They are buoyant, so you have to wedge them under a rock or driftwood piece. For the daphnia, marine calcium additives, or a bit of saltwater mix works fine with most strains.
