Re: inbreeding



I disagree with the blanket statement that inbreeding results in weakened fish. Many famous aquarists have been selectively inbreeding for decades to produce beautiful, vigorous, large stock. One can select for vigor and other attributes. When we lose stock, there can be many reasons. Accumulation of lethal traits is a possibility, but should not be assumed.
