I think that is not entirely true. At least not fresh blood. I wonder if
there is a need for fresh blood prior to spawning. One of the techniques to
catching leeches in the wild if to put a piece of meat (I think) inside a
burlap/onion bag. I suspect that they just like a high protein diet.
Anyway, you are right to remind me/us to be cautious about keeping them in the
tank. As wholesome as I think they would be for the fish, they seem like they
would be a real pain as far as worry about the health of the fish.
