Incubation of eggs. for soild spawners.

As I think he mentioned
Method A
1. Boil some peat.*(see note at bottom)
2. Pack tightly in a container like a P Tree dish.
3. Rinse the eggs in clean tankwater slightly tinted with acraflavin.
4. Let the eggs rest in shallow clean tinted water. Remove any white or
fungused eggs as soon as spotted.**
5. After 3 or 4 days place the eggs one at a time on the moist peat in the
dish.
6. Cover the dish and store it in a warm 80 - 85 degree F. place and wait
for them to eye up.
Method 2
Or you can
1. Boil the peat.
2. Squeeze it in a net to get out most of the water.
3. Place the peat in a folded newspaper section over night.
4. Place the peat and eggs into a plastic bag, fold bag, and store at 80 F
for 2-3 months.
Method 3
Or you can
1. Half fill a ptree dish with water that is 20% ringers solution.
2. Add eggs and put on cover.
4. Remove white eggs daily for a week.
5. Store in area where they will remain at 80 degrees for three week. If
they are eyed up hatch them by putting the eggs in tank water( The tank
water should be a tank that has peat in it) in a jar with a lose fitting
cover.
6. Place the jar in the bottom of a deep tank like a 55 gallon. the fish
that are ready to hatch will be swimming in an hour or less. This will avoid
belly sliders.

* Close pore sponge or multi layers of paper towel cut to fit the p tree
dish can also be used.can be boiled and used instead of peat.

**If you are working with albino fish like Whitei their egg development will
be white so do not discard them.

If you can get a copy of the JAKA from August 1967 it has pictures of a trap
for Notho eggs and photos of an atmospheric incubator in a article I wrote.
It is my opinion that the sand scratches a lot of the eggs and with the trap
no sand or other medium is used.
I apologize for the earlier reply it was far to short and did not give the
information needed.
