Rosy barbs will solve your duckweed problem quickly--underfeed them a bit
and 4 should clear a 10 gallon tank in a couple of weeks (depending on the
amount of duckweed to start with and how quickly it grows for you).
I find that duckweed is useful for "jumpy" species (Rivulus and such) and
helps them to feel more secure and thus stay IN the tank. When it gets too
thick, I pull and toss it onto the compost heap.
