Green Water

I have 2 25 gallon Rubbermaid tubs out the back door
that are growing green water really well. I picked up
a daphnia culture and it is doing really well with the
green water. Unfortunately, the green water is also
running a tremendous crop of mosquito larvae, some
kind of little red thing that kind of looks like
mosquito larvae. How do I grow the green water and
still be able to open the backdoor without needing a
blood transfusion? And any ideas on what the red
wrigglers are in the water? Good for the fish?
