Re: Intellectual Property debate

<< How can it be that BOTH are right, >>

I've been staying out of this up to this point because my OPINION differs
from the common thread. But an important point here is that OPINION is
involved.

Personally, I wouldnt care less if someone used MY photos. I would consider
it a compliment to have them used and would be happy that the hobby was
furthered by their distribution. I am strictly an amateur. I foresee NO
potential to get rich from killifish photos, so why concern myself with the
potential loss of $10 or so.

I have a website to promote my music (www.catfishnthecrawlers.com) Its
purpose is to promote. Anything anyone want to use off this site and
distribute further through any media is to my advantage. SO I tend to look
at photos or information off the site differently. I want it copied and
distributed. If somebody doesnt distribute it for free, I will have to pay
an adverting fee to get it done. I also tend to look at most killie info
that way to. I'd like to promote it, so I see an advantage to any and all
distribution of information.

Obviously others see their photos and articles differently. The key is to
respect the originators/authors wishes. Where people err is to make
assumptions over what those opinions and wishes may be, without first
checking with the "owner".
