Re: blackworms

Hi Robert,

Not much to explain, every 2 days the water is changed. I use water from
tubs of aquarium water that I have aging. The worm container is given a bit
of a shake to loosen any bits of cat food left and the excess water is
poured off, this is done another 2 times so it is basicly a 300% water
change. Then I just add a couple of bits of dried cat food no special reason
for the cat food besides the white worms are kept in the same fridge and the
cat food was there to feed them. Food was the only thing I could think of
that was making my blackworms want to escape. They must reproduce when I
first bleach my container(every 5-6 months) I buy $8-$10 worth of worms a
week by the time it is ready to bleach again would prbably by $4-$6 worth.
The container is 18x12 and 5-6 inches high only ever fill up to 1/3 of its
hight in water.

Have not seen it yet I was sent the beginers handbook. There is a truce for
the time being. I had to let my AKA membership run out miss the JAKA
already, so I can join NAKA the SKG and ANGFA this way I should keep
everyone happy.

> Is it still impossible to send eggs to Australia?

Yes, to me anyway. There are some cichlid blokes organising an import later
in the year I am going to see how much it would cost for 20-50 pairs of
killies in with them that way we cut inspection costs and few other things
that add up. But I have tried to do this before and no one else is
interested because bringing in that many fish means the fry are worth
nothing and thats allways the first thing I think of before buying fish.

One bit of good news is Nothobranchius might be put on AQIS list, don't know
how well they would survive the 21 days quarantine. Only a whisper tho.
Rivulus and all Sth American annuals are still going to be banned.

All are welcome to vist the killi forum I moderate down here, it would make
some of the coments above make sence.
