RE: collection sites

Hi Tim,

Even if the collector is still around things are left up to his memory if
not written up right away. If I think back to a trip I took 10 years ago, I
might recall about 20% of the details. As a matter of fact if I am lucky I
can recall 20% of what I did yesterday. An archive of records is always
useful.

When talking to old timers, most of them start almost every sentence with "I
think" or "If I recall correctly".

When thinking about it is amazing how much has been accomplished by
volunteers clubs and associations.

Peace,

~RJ~

Harry, I agree with all your comments regarding Rogers work. I too have been
working hard on documenting collection data in my website
http://www.killifish.f9.co.uk/Killifish/Killifish%20Website/Index.htm & the
code library is well worth a look. I am still updating work from original
collectors.
This information can very easily be lost in the future. I'm sure many of us
have been to lectures & seen collection slides of a trip. Ten years on you
ask yourself why that trip was never written up in a journal. Before you
know it the collector has left the hobby or passed on & the material is
lost.
