Re: Species maintenance by affliate clubs: collection sites

I stand corrected, Ron. I did not know there were so many and, in fact, some
are not listed in Langton's latest book on Wild Collections. This brings up a
real deficiency in our setup to accurately ID collection sites. Many are
simply a personal thing -- including the collection maps and no hard data is
submitted to any sort of official body. For untold years (nothing personal,
Roger) only Roger Langton has been trying to collect all the data and issue
it in a book. Still, no maps are available and who knows where collection
site Number 28 is located other than the collector himself? There should be
an official spot to gather all this data, including copies of maps to make it
useful to the rest of us. OK, Roger -- let's bug the BOT to setup such an
apparatus! Just kidding, but this needs "doing."

At this juncture, the KCC must accept a killifish from any given collection
spot for a population even if it is not in Roger's fine book. The book is a
great resource and I, for one, use it frequently. Thanks, Roger for all your
hard work.
