Re: Species maintenance by affliate clubs:
Hi Harry, Are you sure this is the only chromaphyosemion with a specific collection site? What are you using for criteria in regards to "specific", the 47km part of the code? Would these also qualify? (not that I'm saying they need to be core species or anything, just throwing them out there for thought on chrom's with defined locations).
Bivittatum "Kwa Riverfalls Plantation"
Poliaki "Mile 29"
Poliaki "Mile 33 DK"
Loennbergii "Edea Y km 18 CSK 95/28"
cf.Splendopleure "Muyuka Pol. Station C89/15"
cf.Splendopleure "Mbonge CDC Camp 4/2000"
sp. Rio Muni-Bata Niefang Km.25 GEMHS 26
Even after these are considered, there are many more that could be pinpointed. I have seen alot of location data for and they get pretty descriptive, such as this one:
--riggenbachi HAH98/Bonepoupa = HK 98/325
location 325 data:
Number: 325 Date: 12/14/1998
Country: Cameroon State: Litoral Province
Coordinates: 04°04'48" N 10°02'13" Elevation: 100 m pH 6.4 TDS 20 µSi 0.03
Location: Bonepoupa, on the old Edéa to Douala highway. About 1.5 km before the
bridge over the Dibamba. A very small stream running east to west underneath the
highway. Access is easiest on the eastern side of the road, through bamboo
thickets. Medium fast flowing stream with a number of quiet areas in the main
channel of the stream, and in a small stagnat side arm. the side arm is full of
leaves and other organic debris. Light colored sandy bottom with some portion of
loam. Clear, clear water.Collectors: T. Hrbek, J. Kum
just food for thought. regards, Ron
