Species maintenance by affliate clubs:

Mike Bartlett raises an interesting idea, but really don't believe it should
be mandatory. The idea is for each affiliate club of the AKA to select a
species to be maintained by the members. My local group, the Suncoast
Killifish Society elected to do this about six months ago and we are
maintaining Aphyosemion bitaeniatum "multicolor" 47km Lagos-Ibidan. To our
knowledge, this is the only chromaphyo-semion with a specific collection
site.

There are about twenty-five affiliate clubs in existence. If each club
adopted a KCC species that would insure a well established reservoir for
about 25 killifish species right now. There will be a push for volunteers for
the KCC species maintenance at the AKA convention with sign up sheets. Give
it some thought; consider having your affilate club select a species and sign
up!

KCC for:
                                                                  a.
