Re: used aquariums & gravel

By the way, as one gets into the hobby more and more, it is wise to gather
some kitchen utensils, so that the kitchen set can be as soapy as need be,
but without the much feared fish poop and the fishroom stuff is relatively
safe for the killies.

In this vein, an appropriately sized, porcelain covered, soup pot is great
for boiling gravel and peat moss (when the family is out somewhere). A
colander with small holes is useful for draining and rinsing the boiled
gravel, letting the dust and what have you go down the drain or into the
garden.

When the Christmas season rolls around you can present your significant
other with a truly unique list of suggested stocking stuffers. Or ... if you
are in a hurry, that would certainly make a very different Easter basket. ;)

All the best!

Scott
