As AL said mix the new food in witht he old. ALso, try to introduce
the fry to the flake/pellet ASAP. Don't wait till they look big
enough. Try small pellets of crushed flake. I possible place some
dither fish in the tank to "show" them what is edible.
I start weaning my nothos onto flake from about 3 weeks and the non
annuals from around week one. My amieti only got live food for 2
weeks before they were completely on Mike Reed's No-Bs.
I feel it is very important to have our fish take flake and other
prepared foods. The Vitamins and minerals in these food are essential
to healthy fish. The only alternative is lots and varied live foods.
This is ofcourse very difficult to provide through out the year.
Bu using dither fish and associative conditioning I am even able to
get wild nothos to take flake. If you are pipetting bbs and frozen
food into the tank then start pipetting flake and pellets at the same
time. The fish learn that the pippet = food and will peck at anything
coming from it.
Good luck
