RE:BlackWorms and Keeping
Edd,
I would have to say this is due to the pure quality of the BlackWorms you are
getting to begin with. Our local aquarium society gets a quantity in based on
peoples orders. This amount is usually in the order of 15 to 20 pounds. They
are healthy and fat, wiggle around like crazy. Very lively. No problem
keeping 1/2 lb per blue worm tray for a month. Just rince a couple times a
week. They are still very active after 3 weeks.
One important thing is to just bring the water to the level of the worms in
the top try of he blue worm keepers. They need a lot of oxygen to stay healthy
and will literally "drown" under deep water. I bring the water just slightly
below the level of he worms. This might be your problem, however, my
guess is that it is the quality of the incoming worms.
