Re: Looking for a Killie Pen Pal/Friend
I agree with Lee, but recognize that the young lady may sometime have a
problem conversing in a public forum that has several hundred members
listening in.
I offer the following suggestions:
If she has a question or contribution that would be of interest to some
other list members, perhaps it is better for her to bite the bullet and post
it here. We learn by what others don't know when a guru answers here. Makes
the list hum and keeps us eagerly awaiting the next set of messages.
It is easy to post to a specific individual. After lurking a while, the
general sense of who knows what about what subjects becomes obvious. Copy
the "FROM:" line from any list message from that person, correct the subject
line as needed, and paste their address into the "TO:" line of a new posting
to just that one person. [Look out for the Netscape bug that changes it
back, sometimes.]
Most of us enjoy getting individual messages, and I cherish the friends I
have made here, that way. Just be quick to (with permission) get it back on
list, if the material moves into areas that may be of more general interest.
Otherwise, I suspect *most* of us active on the list would be happy to
privately communicate about killifish topics. My private messages are often
even *more* outrageous than my public ones. ;-)
Hope this makes sense.
