I tend to give the books the edge, on this one.
I have found Dr. Roger Brousseau's little booklet on SA Annuals to be a
virtual "bible" for Cynos. From differences in water and spawning needs to
egg gestation times, he provides sound guidlines that are just impossible to
cover well, here. It's available on the AKA site store, I think, or from Dr.
Roger himself.
Cynos and the new genera they have been split into are too varied for simple
treatment. Try to get advice with the eggs, but don't overlook the books for
these fish.
