Re: CONVENTION REGISTRATION
Other people are succeeding. You can try again, or wait a couple of days until I am physically at the machine and can check out why it is having stability problems. This is a server that has been rock solid stable for more than 6 months, hardly ever needing a restart. These problems began about a week ago. I suspect that a system file has become corrupted and I may have to reinstall the OS. That has to wait until I am there (Wednesday).
By the way, many of you know that I will be retiring from Cornell at the end of June and some have asked what is going to happen to the server. I could leave it at Cornell and administer it remotely, as I have been doing, but when serious problem like this occurs, that can be a pain in the rear. I am pleased to tell you that I have very good reason to expect that I will be able to move the server to a connection in OR, where I will be able to drive to it if a major problem occurred. Just for your interest.
