Color and Pattern degradation in S.A. Annuals?

I have heard people talk about the colors and patterns bleaching out of South
American Annuals after a couple of generations of inbreeding from Wild.

Would anyone on he list like to comment?

I have seen this in no fish, Killie, Apisto, S.A. or African Cichlids if good
breeding stock is selected, culls are done with rigor, and occasional new genes
are introduced by trading a male of he same species/location. This includes
African Annual and Non-Annual Killies, even those with strict locations.

Why would S.A. Annuals be different? I have no personal experience with S.A.
Annuals so I ask the list.

All comments welcome.
