RE: *New* camera

Scott,
That is a camera superior to mine and so is Wright's old one. However, I
have a Sony MVC CD-1000 and it was 1000 dollars NEW!!!! A bit of a balk at
the price but it stores 120 high res (1200x1600) images and does such
excellent macro that I won't turn loose of it for anything. I buy the
Memorex cd 50 pack of 3" writeable cd's for 26 bucks, which is a lot better
than the sony 5 pack for 25 bucks!!! The problems I find with this camera
though are:

1- once it is written it can not be erased. I.e. deleted image still takes
up space.
2- No expandability.
3- A bit clunky with weight and speed of lens and recording mechanism but
does not make funky noises like Wright's.
4- Anything over 8x10 on a photo quality paper print starts to get slightly
digitized and grainy.

For what it is worth, I prefer this camera over the coolpix. A friend has
the 995. nice camera, but not as easy as this one. The CD-1000 does a lot
in my stead. IT can automatically set exposure and a lot of other things.
IT also has a manual focus and a 10 power OPTICAL zoom for distant shots.
The extra 10 power digital zoom is worthless because you give up optical
quality.

Just the 2 cents of an amateur in every sense of the word, which might
bespeak great things of this camera in and of itself. By the way Scott, if
you want examples of how good it is drop me a line and I'll send you a
sample or two.
