Re: irradiation of post
Mail -- is being irradiated only in a few select places. Mostly
Washington DC area. But rumor has it that will be done wholesale
eventually . It apparently is only about 20% effective with equipment
now available for mass sterilization of normal volumes of mail.
Originally they thought if would be 100% effective but -- not so with
the huge volumes of mail that are being processed. Plus -- a real
terrorist -- bent on infecting someone with anthrax (or other ailment)
can defend against the irradiation process in many ways.
Who knows for certain where this will ultimately end up ??
