ARK March Killies and Cactus League Cook-out

The March 9th meeting of the Arizona Rivulin Keepers is shaping up as a
special event. This will be our first Killies and Cactus League Cook-out.
We are encouraging out-of-towners who are visiting Phoenix for Cactus League
Baseball (or any other activity) to also attend our killifish meeting.

Why should you try to be there? First, we will be meeting at Rhonda
Wilson's instead of the Round Table Pizza. If you haven't been to
Rhonda's before, you're in for a treat. Her tanks are loaded with all sorts
of aquatic plants, both common and rare, and have to be seen! Plus, she
will be offering some of those plants for our auction. Rhonda is a past
Chairperson of the American Livebearer Association and breeds wide a number
of unusual fish, including killies.

Second, ARK will be springing for the food and drink. We will have
hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, beer and potato salad. Our members are being
encouraged to bring additional items (as in potluck).

Third, Peter Unmack, our desert fishes expert, has graciously offered to
provide a program. The topic is still undecided, although just visiting
Rhonda's is a great program in itself.

Fourth, the auction should be a good one. As she has mentioned on this
list, Sue Katz will be moving to her new home in Glendale later this month.
Sue is planning to downsize her collection prior to the move and anticipates
bringing a large selection of killies to the auction. Our out-of-town
visitors have traditionally brought some great killies for the auction too.
Add in Rhonda's aquatic plants and fish, not to mention what our other
members bring, and you have a great auction.

Mark March 9th, 6:30 PM, on your calendar and plan to be there. Check the
ARK website for directions and a map.
