Scr. cauvetti Question
Hi Mike,
Sorry, can't help you on cauvetti. (Thanks for answering Tony!) I am
one of those guys who is horrible at breeding plant spawning killies. I keep
with the annuals, they seem to like me most of the time. But I just received
the latest JAKA on the elberti group (thanks Dick and Gary) and Aphy. elberti
Jakiri makes my mouth water. Man, that is a lovely fish.
This issue of JAKA is one of the best I have seen in 30 years. Monty
you did a fantastic job. I love all the little personal touches in the issue.
I have always liked that writing style for fish information. All the articles
are highly informative. I was curious that none of the authors seem to breed
elberti in a permanent set up. Does the fish not do well in just producing
fry in a well planted tank? My only regret was that Peter Tirbak did not have
a piece in the issue. I am glad it was dedicated to him. I miss his writing
style on killies. His old "The Mop Shop" column in Killie Notes was always my
favorite feature. I think I learned more from Peter's monthly column than
from any other information available at that time. And the photos in this
issue of JAKA are excellent. I think the centerfold color picture should
become a staple. What species will be Mr./Ms. killifish "playmate" for JAKA
January/February 2002?
