This is actually what I just built yesterday. On another list someone said
that sand was an appropriate bottom for this type of tank so that is what I
have. Right now it is just sand and driftwood. Our local society has its
monthly auction soon, I hope to pick up some fish and plants then.

Right now I have very little filtration on it, 125gph on a 30 gallon tank
(probably has 25 gallons of water. I plan on planting heavily.
Hi Paul
Current in a creek biotope keeps the plants and fish moving. Motion is
integral to a creek biotope. And air stones don't look natural. Current
makes your biotope look more alive as does a little aquatic moss on the
water worn rocks and driftwood. Design your streambed keeping in mind that
there are usually very few plants in the strong current and more plants
around the edges of the creek and in the eddies behind the rocks.
