RE: undergravel filters
Hi Streve. UG filters come with a whole bunch of ports for lift tubes. I
generally install a cleanout tube, just a lift tube that reaches above the
waterline. Stick a siphon tube down that and you can do a water change
without sucking up any fry and clean out under the plate too.

Subject: undergravel filters
Hi All
I have a question that I hope someone out there has come up with a =
solution. Does anyone have a way to clean under an undergravel filter =
without moving the gravel or disturbing the live plants? We have a 55 =
gallon and a 65 gallon with ALOT of java fern and in the past we have =
had problems after we cleaned because we had to disturb the roots. Any =
help would be great.
Thanks
Streve
